Book & Journal Donation Project
News Update No.8.

During the past five years a small number of selected books from AGID CANADA collections have been donated to geologists in Mongolia. During 2006, a much larger donation of 24 banker's boxes, filled with approximately 600 kilograms of books and journals, was delivered to the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.

Shipment from Canada, and the subsequent delivery to the MUST campus were graciously expedited by Western Prospector Group and Redpath Mining, collaborators on Prospector's uranium program in the Dornod district of northeastern Mongolia. MUST was formerly known as MTU, the Mongolian Technical University. In the photograph, taken on 13 September 2006, MUST staff and Dr. Gerald Harper (Western Prospector Group, standing) peruse some of the new books.

The AGID CANADA Project has recently made some additional large shipments to African countries, which will be announced on these pages shortly.
